Words - LGBTQ+ Narrative Short Film
This short film was Directed, Written, Produced, Edited, Sound Designed and Color Graded by Brennan Smith. This short film was created as a Capstone Final Project. I wanted to explore something very personal to me and tell the story of what it is like to grow up queer without understanding what it means while having a minimal support system. I wanted to show adolescent struggles of learning more about yourself even when you feel like no one is there with you. It's important to speak about your feelings before they weigh you down.
LGBTQ+ Rights in West Virginia
This mini documentary was Directed, Produced, Filmed, and Edited by Brennan Smith. It was my first real opportunity to create a story involving heavy amounts of research at special collections, and I wanted this project to be something meaningful and something to help those in the community that are hurting or scared. This project was meant to show the downsides, but also to show that things do get better through change. It has been selected and shown at the Localization Pop Up Film Festival.
The Never Ending Night
This short film was Directed, Written, and Color Graded by Brennan Smith. This short film was created by working with a class of other students where we had to create short films. I wanted to explore writing a horror story to expand my artistic genre. I created the character of Alison, and through this story got to explore what she had done that is causing her to relive this single night over and over.
